Vintage 197X Smith-Corona Coronamatic 8000 Electric Typewriter With Cover, Rare. Tested and works as designed. All keys respond (the key L needs lube), all functions respond, electricity working fine. It has a ribbon, but is running on fumes, needs one soon. Also this is an estate sale find, if it will be used for typing I would recommend a lube service to last another 100 years.

This typewriter has a nice balance between keeping a lot of the feel of using a manual typewriter, while having the benefits of being an electric machine. The carriage return and backspace, for example, are still independent of the electric motor, however the keys are similar to a mechanical computer keyboard, and require very little force. The 12 inch carriage comes in handy with larger pieces of paper, or writing landscape on a regular piece of printer paper. However, because this typewriter is quite large (and also fairly early on in the world of electrics) it is quite a heavy portable typewriter.
