Vintage Singer 221-1 Featherweight Sewing Machine Portable Electric With Case

This listing is for a vintage Singer 221-1 Featherweight Sewing Machine. It comes in its original box. Along with some other accessories. The serial number on the underside of the machine is AG 985961, which I believe dates it to 1947.

List of accessories that will be included. Zig Zag Attachment (in box with its own instruction booklet). Singer Motor Lubricant in box slight damage, 1 torn flap on one side. Original Electric Foot Pedal and power cord (all attached together). Singer Needles 15x1 (Only 1 in package attached to red paper). 4 Bobbins, 3 have thread on them. 4 more Singer branded feet. 2 Simanco flat head screwdrivers. There are 2 small keys that were in the case, but they do not seem to fit the keyholes on the case. I will be including them anyway, but unsure if they belong to this case. Condition of the original case and sewing machine. There is a smell on the inside of the case of long term storage. Machine is a bit dusty, and needs a detailed cleaning.

The item does work when plugged in, original power cord appears to be intact. No bad electric smells when plugged in.

Sounds very silent when plugged in. It is missing a bulb where the light would go, but we did test a small bulb on it, and it is functional.

The handle on the box is very worn, and looks like it could break through at any time. The outer surfaces have been wiped down. The detailed cleaning will be left up to new owner. Most of the gold tone painted areas are in good vivid condition, aside from a small area on the base, that feels like an oily residue. The fading of the gold paint is in a high traffic area, where the arm may rest or the fabric would brush against. The booklet that accompanies this machine says it is equipped with a rotary hook and lock stitch, and can also do forward and backward stitching.
